New School and Playground Built in Guatemala

Building Bridges Worldwide and the McCombs School of Business traveled to a community called Santa Palencia in Guatemala in July of 2019.  Once in the village, students worked each day on the construction of a pre-school to replace the existing wooden structure and a new playground for all of the children.

On this project, we partnered with a company called Eleva Coffee that sources their coffee beans from the farmers in Santa Palencia. This was great because volunteers were able to get an inside look at how the local farmers participate in international markets.
