In July 2016, Building Bridges will travel to Tanzania to construct a school building in the Maasai community of Simanjiro in northern Tanzania. This will be completed in partnership with The Mccombs School of Business at the University of Texas. Incoming MBA students will travel to Tanzania on Wednesday, July 13th and return to the United States on Saturday, July 23rd.
Program participants will spend four days and four nights in the village of Simanjiro. Once in the village, students will work each day on the construction of an additional school building that will become part of the complex originally constructed by Building Bridges in 2014.
Prior to working in the village, volunteers will spend two days on safari viewing the famed African wildwife and Tanzanian landscape. At the conclusion of the trip, volunteers will travel back to Texas for orientation. This additional school building is greatly needed and will add to and already successful project. The trip will also impact MBA students through the friendships forged and lasting memories made.
